My love for the written word began before I started school and has been with me ever since. I particularly loved reading during my school and college years and remember feeling a bit adrift on the rare occasions I didn’t have a book with me. English language and literature were definitely my strongest subjects at school, and I went on to study post-secondary English Literature.
Someone asked me recently how long I'd been editing. My answer: pretty much ever since I learned to read! I've been spontaneously editing everything I’ve read (without really knowing it!) and I always seem to find those pesky mistakes that everyone else misses.
In October, 2021, I enrolled in a program of study that included writing, graphic design and editing, graduating in May, 2023 with a Professional Writing Certificate. Although, as the title suggests, it was primarily a writing course, the editing modules highlighted my strength for making other peoples' writing look good. Consequently, I chose to use these talents to help writers of all levels of experience and ability attain their literary goals.
My fiction of choice is mostly in the mystery/thriller genre, but I also enjoy non-fiction, biographies and historical fiction/non-fiction.
My family and I moved to Canada in 2005 and we settled in Okotoks, a town just south of Calgary, in Alberta. We hold dual British-Canadian citizenship, having become Canadian citizens in 2015.
